Samfund Celebration 2022
On Wednesday, December 7 from 8-9 p.m. Expect Miracles Foundation [EMF] celebrated the impact of our Samfund grant program which provides financial assistance to young adult cancer survivors and their families. 2022 was a record-breaking year where we gave $475,000 in grants for housing, reconstruction, continuing education, family building, and much more. This was the focus of Samfund Celebration 2022.
Samfund Celebration 2022 was a free event featured comedians Zach Sherwin and Myq Kaplan. We also had special VIP rooms featuring a wine tasting by Voluptuary Wine and a book discussion with author and New York Times columnist Suleika Jaouad. Suleika was joined by “Survivor” champion Ethan Zohn and together they discussed her memoir Between Two Kingdoms.
The end of year online virtual celebration was an opportunity for us to celebrate with grant recipients and all the generous donors that made these grants possible.
About EMF’s Samfund Grant Program
Expect Miracles Foundation’s (EMF) Samfund grant program provides direct financial assistance to young adult cancer survivors. Young adults are a vulnerable and underserved segment of the cancer community. We help young adults who are struggling with expenses through two grant categories: Main Grants and Family Building Grants. Main Grant Cycles occur twice per year and provide assistance for essential living expenses, such as car payments, rent or mortgage supplementation, continuing education or reconstructive procedures. Family Building Grants occur twice a year and help cancer survivors cover expenses related to medical services such as IVF, IUI, gestational carrier, surrogacy, adoption, and fertility testing.
