East Coast Classic 2023

The 29th Annual Expect Miracles Foundation East Coast Classic took place on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Pinehills Golf Course in Plymouth, MA. This sold out event welcomed the financial services industry’s top executives under blue skies for an unforgettable day of golf.

During his opening remarks at the shotgun start, Executive Director Frank Heavey shared how grateful the Foundation is to the financial services industry for its support of EMF’s mission to fund life-saving cancer research. He acknowledged the tragic news of the sudden passing of industry colleague, Mike Scanlon, from Putnam Investments. Mike, who had played in the East Coast Classic for many years, had lost his life to an aggressive form of cancer. The knowledge of Mike’s tragic passing reminded all present that this was more than just a day of golf, but a fundraising event with deep purpose.

Throughout the day, EMF hosted on-course contests, a silent auction, and more to raise money for life-saving cancer research in memory of Mike Scanlon and all those who have lost their lives tragically to cancer.

EMF is grateful for the generosity of our corporate sponsors, including our Foundation Sponsor BNY Mellon, who support our mission and make a positive impact on the cancer community.

We invite you to save the date for Expect Miracles in Boston taking place on November 2, 2023 at The Intercontinental Hotel on Boston’s Waterfront.
