A Day of Impact and Inspiration: East Coast Classic 2025 Recap
Expect Miracles Foundation [EMF] was proud to host the 31st East Coast Classic 2025 on Thursday, June 12 at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth, MA. With over 240 golfers, perfect weather, and a powerful sense of purpose, it was a day full of connection, generosity, and impact for the cancer community. From a hole-in-one to honoring inspiring leaders, this year’s event was truly one for the books.
Remembering Mary Keenan
This year’s event was especially meaningful as we honored the memory of Mary Keenan, a beloved former EMF team member and passionate advocate for young adult cancer patients and survivors. “We will forever remember Mary as fun-loving, full of energy and life, whose laugh endeared her to everyone. We will be forever grateful to Mary for her incredible passion to help others fighting cancer, especially young adults. And we will use our fond memory of Mary as motivation to increase our efforts to bring hope to patients, survivors, and their loved ones,” said Frank Heavey, EMF’s Executive Director. Mary’s dedication, warmth, and enduring spirit were present throughout the day, and her legacy will continue to shape our work and inspire all of us moving forward.
Celebrating Legacy and Impact, On and Off the Course
During the post-golf reception, we had the great honor of presenting the Strauss Lifetime Achievement Award to Bruce Speca. Bruce’s decades of leadership and unwavering commitment to Expect Miracles Foundation have helped build and strengthen our community in profound ways. We are so grateful to him and thrilled to recognize his lasting impact.
The tournament was filled with moments of connection and celebration, including an impressive hole-in-one by Jeremy Peacock of Kinsale Financial! The silent auction, open throughout the week for the first time, saw incredible engagement and enthusiasm, helping to raise vital funds for EMF’s mission.
Golf Clinic Delivers Skills, Confidence, and Fun
If you missed this year’s Golf Clinic, make sure it’s on your radar for next time! Designed for beginners and those looking to improve their game, the clinic featured hands-on instruction from a seasoned golf pro covering swing mechanics, putting, and more – all while the tournament was underway. It’s a unique, low-pressure way to get involved, sharpen your skills, and still enjoy the full event experience. We’ll offer this program at the Atlantic Coast Classic in the Fall, and trust us – you’ll want to be part of it!
From the Course to the Cause – Thank You
To our players, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who showed up to make the day special: thank you! Your support funds groundbreaking research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and life-changing financial assistance for young adult survivors through EMF’s SAMFund.
