Financial Services Cup 2025

It was a hot one at nearly 100°F in Hingham, MA at Black Rock Country Club on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 for the Financial Services [FS] Cup 2025! Despite the heat, the fifth annual FS Cup delivered another incredible day of golf, camaraderie, and impact in support of Expect Miracles Foundation [EMF]. Twenty of EMF’s top supporters teed it up in this Ryder Cup-style showdown, hosted by Frank Strauss, Founder and Chairman of the Board of EMF.

The format followed a best-ball net match play between two drafted teams of ten, with three points up for grabs in each match: one for the front nine, one for the back nine, and one for total holes won. The first team to earn eight points secures the FS Cup and year-long bragging rights.

The FS Cup was a great combination of fun with a small group of good people in a common industry, but the icing on the cake was the great cause underpinning the day. I’ve been going to EMF events for a decade and continue to be impressed by their growth, focus, and how much of the proceeds makes its way to the great causes of cancer research and support. Its level of impact is incredible and I’m proud to be able to support their mission!

Meet the Winners

Financial Services Cup 2025 Winning Team

Both teams came ready to compete, and the matches were tight all day long. Ultimately, Team Cure Champions, led by J. Stratton, pulled ahead and secured the win. Continuing the FS Cup tradition, Steve Kraunelis, captain of the defeated team, presented the trophy to Jay, congratulating him and his squad for a hard-earned victory under challenging conditions.

Next year’s FS Cup will mark Year 2 of the captainship for both J. Stratton and Steve Kraunelis. With a rematch already on the horizon, expectations (and competition) are sure to be high in 2026. Current players will have the first right of refusal to play in the 2026 FS Cup, and any open spots in the tournament will be available in auctions at upcoming EMF events.

Value of Participating in the Financial Services Cup

There’s something special about getting industry leaders together on the golf course – not just to play, but to rally around a purpose. The FS Cup isn’t just about the golf – it’s a reminder that when we show up as a group, we can do more than talk change – we can actually help make it happen in the fight against cancer.

Senior Director, Americas Head of Relationship Management, ICE

It doesn’t get much better than playing a round of golf, in 100-degree heat with other like-minded golfers, who deeply care about making a real impact for so many! The FS Cup brings out that perfect mix of friendly competition, terrific people, and in the end we all know it is for a winning cause! It’s a day on the course that really sticks with you!
