“As Director of Programs at EMF, I lead our grant program, providing financial assistance to young adult cancer survivors as they recover from treatment. This mission is deeply personal—three of my siblings, Molly, Mary, and John, were diagnosed as young adults. This age group faces significant financial strain at a critical time with limited resources. EMF grants help bridge the gap, allowing survivors to regain stability. I’ve seen firsthand how cancer impacts not just health but also financial and emotional well-being. Knowing the difference our support makes motivates me to expand our reach and help more young adults move forward with hope.”

“My dad passed away in 2024 from Glioblastoma after a difficult 5 months of suffering. My family saw first hand how expensive hospital bills, treatments, and in house care can be. I am running with EMF in order to attempt to help others going through similar situations as this is the most difficult times during their lives.”

Boston Marathon 2025

“I’m running the Boston Marathon in support of EMF to raise awareness of the full scope of cancer care and honor someone dear to me. Last year, my friend’s one-year-old daughter was diagnosed with High-Risk Neuroblastoma. Tumors were found on her skull, jaw, spine, and adrenal glands. She has endured chemotherapy, surgeries, and stem cell harvesting. Her upcoming immunotherapy was pioneered by Memorial Sloan Kettering, supported by EMF’s Innovation Fund. As an MRI technologist at Mass General Brigham, I’m proud to support patients at Dana-Farber and help advance the fight against cancer.”

“Cancer has been a constant in my family’s life. Before I was 13, three of my four grandparents were diagnosed, and two of them lost their battles. In middle school, my stepmom was diagnosed and bravely fought and beat it. In high school, my dad received his diagnosis and also won his battle. Now, my stepmom is facing a second diagnosis, showing incredible strength once again. These experiences have fueled my passion for cancer research. To honor my family and others affected, I’m running the 129th Boston Marathon for Expect Miracles Foundation, pushing for change and hope.”

“I’m inspired by EMF’s mission to not only support cancer research but to also help young cancer victims during this difficult time in their lives.  Five of my close family members have died of incurable brain cancer.  My mother and uncle passed away within months of being diagnosed leaving a terrible void and financial hardship on our family.  I run in honor of my mother who died 24 years ago and hope my fundraising will create miracles for other families.”

“We can all think of someone close to us who has been affected by cancer. For me, it was my grandmother who battled lung cancer, and most recently, a very close friend diagnosed with colon cancer. Through working at First Eagle, I’ve had the opportunity to attend several EMF events over the years and am proud to support their mission. As I continue my pursuit of running the World Major Marathons, I am excited to be running Boston with EMF and a cause that is bigger than my own bucket list.”

I love that we rally the financial services world to come together to help fight the fight. It’s inspirational and everyone I’ve met connected to the Foundation has been first class.”
