2025 Smithwick’s Open Supporting Expect Miracles Foundation
Every year, the day before Thanksgiving, the Charles River Country Club community gathers for one of its most cherished traditions: the 3 Clubs for Charity Smithwick’s Open. It’s a day centered on gratitude, connection, and giving back, and the 2025 Smithwick’s Open Supporting Expect Miracles Foundation [EMF] captured that spirit more than ever.
When Tradition Meets Purpose
This year, thanks to CRCC member and longtime EMF supporter Chris Goff, the 2025 Smithwick’s Open selected EMF as its charity partner. We were truly honored to be chosen and thrilled to meet so many members and their families who warmly welcomed us into this beloved tradition.
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Sunshine, crisp fall air, and bright late-November skies set the tone for a day filled with joy, generosity, and community. From the moment players arrived, there was a palpable energy, one of celebration and shared purpose.
The Smithwick’s Open is one of my favorite days of the year. Seeing our members, families, and friends come together to give back and support one another reminds me just how special this community truly is. Supporting Expect Miracles Foundation this year was an honor, and I’m grateful for the incredible impact we were able to make together.
Celebrating $80,000 in Hope and Healing
We’re proud to share that the event raised over $80,000, a powerful reflection of the CRCC community’s generosity and the heartfelt spirit of giving that defines this tradition.
These funds will have a meaningful impact on the cancer community by accelerating life-saving research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and providing direct financial assistance to young adult cancer survivors through our SAMFund program.
The Smithwick’s Open continues to bring out the best in the CRCC community, and this year felt especially meaningful. The entire event came together so easily, thanks in large part to Expect Miracles Foundation’s support and collaboration.
United in Generosity
The Smithwick’s Open is more than a tournament, it’s a reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together with kindness and intention. The laughter across the course, families bundled up cheering on loved ones, and the camaraderie from tee to green made this a day we won’t soon forget.
