Development Associate

Expect Miracles Foundation’s mission is to rally the financial services industry and beyond to invest in life-saving cancer research while advancing the financial and emotional health of people impacted by cancer. Expect Miracles Foundation is currently seeking a Development Associate to join our small, hardworking team to help advance our mission to improve the lives of people impacted by cancer. This person will be responsible for securing event sponsors and managing relationships with those sponsors, developing and managing relationships with individual donors, and providing support around all the Foundation's fundraising efforts.

This position is perfect for someone with prior experience working in a fundraising role, who is goal-driven, personable, and willing to learn within an organization with a small staff. This person will report to the Managing Director of Stewardship and work collaboratively with colleagues on the programs, events, and communications teams.

Specific responsibilities will include:

-Securing event and campaign sponsorships and maintaining relationships with sponsors

-Coordinating the virtual year-end fundraising campaign

-Outreach to attendees/donors after each event

-Managing communications and maintaining relationships with individual donors

-Gift management, including tracking offline donations and mailing hard copy thank you letters as needed

-Providing support to remote volunteers participating in peer-to-peer online fundraising

-Helping to coordinate or support virtual events as well as onsite fundraising efforts at in-person events

-Engaging in other assorted fundraising-related tasks, as needed.

 

Qualifications:

-Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fundraising role

-Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact comfortably and confidently with Board members, program alumni and volunteers, and individual donors

-Experience working with Excel a must; experience with Salesforce a plus; experience in the financial services industry a bonus

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

Program Coordinator (Full-Time)

Expect Miracles Foundation is currently seeking a Program Coordinator to join our small, hardworking team to help advance our mission to improve the lives of people impacted by cancer. This person will be responsible for executing the day-to-day activities of our flagship grants program, which provides financial assistance and free online support and education to young adult cancer survivors, as well as our two smaller pilot programs.

This position has a great opportunity for growth within the organization.

This position is perfect for someone with prior experience working in a program role, who is professional, goal-driven, personable, and willing to learn within an organization with a small staff. This person will report directly to the Director of Programs & Operations and work collaboratively with colleagues on the programs, events, and communications teams.

Specific responsibilities will include:

-Assisting with the planning, launch and fulfillment of the 4 Samfund grant cycles throughout the year, involving:
*Outreach to partner organizations and other mailing lists
*Providing phone and email support to potential applicants
*Coordinating evaluations of applications with reviewers
-Assisting with the notification of applicants
-Coordinating payout of grant awards, including serving as main point of contact for grant recipients around all payment communications, and overseeing the payment process
-Coordinating bi-annual grant recipient data collection
-Serving as main point of contact for participants in our medical debt elimination program and our financial literacy program
-Developing and maintaining relationships with our alumni community
-Participating in the writing of grant applications for program funding
-Providing some assistance with social media
-Assisting the Management Team as needed

Minimum Job Requirements:
-Passion for Expect Miracles Foundation’s mission and work
-3-5 years experience, preferably in a program role
-Bachelor’s Degree
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Flexibility, attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to multitask
-Outgoing, friendly and helpful personality
-Excellent project management skills; comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities, and working longer hours if needed
-Comfortable with technology
-Ability to attend occasional night meetings and events
-Prior work experience in the nonprofit sector a plus

Our office is conveniently located a block from South Station and is accessible by public transportation. We are currently working in a hybrid model, so this role will require someone local to the Boston area.
