Expect Miracles in Boston 2025
On November 13, 2025, Expect Miracles Foundation (EMF) brought together a record-breaking 450 guests from across the financial services industry and beyond for the annual Expect Miracles in Boston Gala at the InterContinental Boston, co-hosted by Kelli O’Brien (Citi) and Justin Hansen (MFS). The evening embodied this year’s event theme, Harvest of Hope, celebrating progress in cancer research and powerful support for young adults impacted by cancer.
A Record-Breaking Night
Throughout the night, guests reflected on EMF’s mission and the impact made possible through collective generosity. Thanks to this community, EMF awarded $1.1 million to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in 2025, advancing groundbreaking translational research at the Belfer Center. In addition, the EMF’s SAMFund grant program delivered a record-breaking $560,000 in financial assistance to young adult cancer survivors, helping them rebuild their lives after treatment.
Kelli O’Brien, EMF Board Member and Gala Co-Chair, delivered a powerful and deeply personal speech about her melanoma journey. After undergoing surgery and facing an uncertain diagnosis last year, she now celebrates one year cancer-free, a testament to early detection, access to care, and continued investment in cancer research. Her story inspired the room and helped drive a record-breaking live appeal that raised nearly $115,000!
Cancer research made my story possible. The early detection, the skilled hands, the treatment options – all of that exists because people before us invested in hope, in science, and in the belief that tomorrow can be better.
An Evening of Generosity and Momentum
Guests participated in a vibrant evening of connection, celebration, and giving, supporting EMF’s ongoing work to fuel scientific progress and provide hope to the cancer community. EMF extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, and contributed to the success of this year’s event.
