Expect Miracles Foundation Hosts 5th Annual Kids Golf Day at Fenway Park

The financial services community rallies to help families impacted by cancer; Youth experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at “America’s Most Beloved Ballpark”

BOSTON - June 27, 2013 - Expect Miracles Foundation announced it will host its 5th Annual Kids Golf Day at Fenway Park to benefit youth patients and families who have been impacted by cancer. The Foundation has invited children and their families throughout New England to participate in a variety of fun, family-friendly activities at the historic ballpark on Friday, July 26.

Expect Miracles Kids Golf Day at Fenway will feature a number of activities, including a mini golf course, a scavenger hunt, arts and crafts activities, a golf skills station, a baseball fast pitch machine and fun games with Wally the Green Monster.

More than 100 children and their families throughout New England are expected to attend this carefree day away from schedules, doctors’ appointments and treatment.   Attendees have been patients at Mass General Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, the Jimmy Fund Clinic and other community hospitals. Youth in attendance are currently being treated for cancer, in remission, cancer survivors or have a family member battling the disease. Expect Miracles Kids Golf Day was established to directly serve and support families in the community impacted by cancer, allowing them to build confidence and memories together.

“Our hope is that we can give these brave children and their families a day free from the worries and struggles that come with this difficult disease,” said Expect Miracles Foundation Founder and Chairman Frank Strauss. “This day is about kids being kids, and families creating memories that they can share for a lifetime.”

Corporate supporters of Kids Golf Day are invited to bring their leadership and employees to volunteer at the event and attend an exclusive Executive Leadership Breakfast with Red Sox Management Executives on September 18th. Current Kids Golf Day sponsors include J.P. Morgan and Beacon Consulting Group along with a number of event partners.
