Atlantic Coast Classic 2024

A Day of Hope and Support for the Cancer Community

On September 30, 2024, Expect Miracles Foundation [EMF] hosted the Atlantic Coast Classic 2024 at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club, which brought together over 350 golfers, supporters, and sponsors to raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer. This event highlighted the power of community, generosity, and resilience while offering a day of unforgettable golf and camaraderie.

From Clouds to Sunshine: Symbol of Hope

The tournament kicked off with overcast skies, but as the day progressed, the sun broke through, reflecting the optimism and determination of everyone involved. This symbolism wasn’t lost on anyone, especially when Jim Hakewill of MFS Investment Management achieved a remarkable hole-in-one. It was a perfect representation of the hope we all share for advancements in cancer research—moments of brilliance and progress shining through the challenges.

Tribute to Partnerships in the Financial Services Industry

At the post-golf reception, Expect Miracles Foundation’s Executive Director, Frank Heavey, and Founder and Chairman, Frank Strauss, expressed deep gratitude for the financial services industry’s 30 years of steadfast support. This year, DFIN was recognized with the prestigious Foundation Award, honoring their long-standing commitment to EMF and their leadership in the fight against cancer. Eric Johnson, President of Global Investment Companies at DFIN, and Steve Margolis, Executive Director at DFIN and EMF Board Member, accepted the award, standing as symbols of corporate dedication to this important cause.

Supporting the Mission: Continuing the Fight Against Cancer

The funds raised during the Atlantic Coast Classic 2024 are crucial to advancing life-saving cancer research and providing support to young adult cancer survivors. The day was filled with both competition and compassion, as golfers not only played for fun but also contributed to a cause that touches so many lives.

The success of the Atlantic Coast Classic 2024 was made possible thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, volunteers, and participants. Through this collective effort, we are making significant strides in advancing cancer research and providing vital resources to those affected by the disease. Together, we will continue to bring hope, progress, and brighter days to the cancer community.
