Hundreds Donate to Watch Miracle Maker Andy McFetridge Shave His Head for Those Impacted by Cancer


On Tuesday, March 10, 2020, the day before the Boston Young Professional’s 2nd Annual Battle of the Bartenders event, we made the difficult decision to cancel the event and began plans to postpone all other upcoming events in response to the pandemic. Like the rest of the world, we were suddenly faced with the challenge of connecting virtually and the uncertainty of new and increasing restrictions.

Q&A with Matt Mackay, Former YPEM NYC President


New York City YPEM (Young Professionals Expect Miracles) Leadership Team President and founding member Matt Mackay, of JP Morgan, will be stepping down and handing over his duties after five impressive years. Matt’s long list of lasting impacts during his time include running the Boston Marathon on Team Expect Miracles, coining the term “Kanley Cup” (the trophy that is awarded to the city with the highest fundraising each year, inspired by YPEM’s annual Kan Jam Tournament), being a part of the Miracle Maker Leadership Council, and leading NYC YPEM to raise $165,521.

Keys to Freedom - An Inside View of the Impact of Samfund Grants on Young Adult Cancer Survivors



When I first joined Expect Miracles Foundation’s (EMF) Samfund Grants team as a Program Assistant in early March of this year, I had no idea we would shortly be plunged into a global pandemic that would rapidly change life as we knew it. Despite the challenges of starting a new job shortly before work (and life!) went remote, I couldn’t be happier or more grateful to be a part of such an outstanding, caring, and giving organization. I’ve learned more about myself, and the world, these past seven months than in any other position I’ve held. I’ve learned how much I previously took my own health for granted. My health has never interrupted life– that’s why it’s so incredibly humbling working with a community of people who have had their lives interrupted, in the most abrupt and destabilizing way.

Boston, MA – March 10, 2020 - Expect Miracles Foundation’s Board of Directors has appointed Michael Collins, Stephen DeAngelis, and Traci Simpson as Directors.  Collins is Vice President and General Manager of Mutual Fund Proxy Solutions at Broadridge Financial. DeAngelis is Senior Managing Director and Head of Distribution at FS Investments.  Simpson is Executive Director and Head of Mutual Funds Product Management at UBS Financial Services, Inc.
