27^th Annual East Coast Classic Highlights

On Thursday June 10 we hosted our 27^th Annual East Coast Classic at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth, MA. Over 200 supporters joined us for a beautiful day of golf and raising funds for the fight against cancer. Before heading out to the course, golfers entered contests and mingled with industry colleagues while sipping Tito’s Bloody Marys and Gosling’s Dark N’ Stormies from our beverage partners. We are grateful for the support of Foundation Sponsor BNY Mellon, our 31 Corporate Sponsors and the six firms that sponsored a hole at the tournament.

While out on the course, golfers participated in various on-course contests, including a putting contest, chipping contest, and “guess the tees.” Special thanks to our incredible volunteers for managing and promoting these contests. Without their dedication, this event would not have been possible.

After finishing up on the course, we welcomed attendees to an outdoor cocktail reception where they networked, enjoyed the raw bar, and congratulated the winners from the tournament. During the reception, Executive Director Frank Heavey welcomed and thanked everyone for their support, especially over the past year through these exceptionally challenging times. Sam Watson, Managing Director of Stewardship, shared the foundation’s gratitude for the impact funding has had on research and Samfund grant recipients. Before announcing the tournament winners, Expect Miracles Foundation Founder and Chairman, Frank Strauss, echoed the sentiments of appreciation for all of our supporters, sponsors, Board of Directors, event partners, and volunteers.

We are so thankful that we could host such a fun and successful event while raising over $500,000 to go towards our life-saving and life-changing mission. We look forward to our next event, the 4^th Annual Atlantic Coast Classic, on September 21, 2021 at Fiddlers Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, NJ.
