On Thursday, November 8th Mutual Funds Against Cancer held its fourth annual Wine & Spirits Extravaganza sponsored by JP Morgan. The luxurious State Room in Boston was filled with over 400 senior business and financial services executives from throughout the country helping the event raise a record $126,000; a 66% increase from last year!
The event was sponsored by many of the world's top financial services firms including: Confluence, Legg Mason, GCom Solutions, State Street Corp, RR Donnelley, Eagle Investment Systems, Computershare, Broadridge, Bridgeway Funds, Interactive Data Corp, SEI, The Bank of New York, Evergreen Investments, Citi, Eaton Vance, Old Mutual, Schroders, Northern Trust, Reuters, John Hancock, PFPC, and The Winter, Wyman Companies.
The event featured wines from around the world provided by MS Walker and a martini bar tasting hosted by William Grant & Sons. Many attendees sampled wine and were educated on the wine regions from around the country. Highlights included the premier of MFAC's video produced by DB&R and a live auction featuring Super Bowl tickets, trips, and jewelry.
The 2007 Premier Sponsor Award was given to JP Morgan. This award is presented annually to the MFAC premier sponsor and recognizes them for their role as an industry leader in the fight to eradicate cancer. Dan Kramer, Sr Vice President for JP Morgan, was on hand to accept the award.

MFAC has raised over $575,000 in 2007 alone and over $1.8 million since inception. MFAC's annual Expect Miracles Golf Classic held in June rallied nearly 400 golfers in the financial industry raised over $375,000.
Mutual Funds Against Cancer (MFAC) is one of the leading advocates in the fight against cancer within New England's mutual fund and financial services industries. Proceeds go to benefit The Center for Applied Cancer Sciences (CACS), an innovative research center at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, one of the leading cancer research and patient care facilities in the world. CACS focuses on the six deadliest cancers including colon, pancreas, lung, melanoma (skin), myeloma (blood) and glioblastoma (brain).
