Expect Miracles Foundation – Financial Services Against Cancer Announces Frank J. Heavey as Chief Development Officer

Boston, MA – October 15, 2013 - Expect Miracles Foundation’s Board of Directors has appointed financial services veteran Frank Heavey as Chief Development Officer. Expect Miracles Foundation, one of the leading advocates in the fight against cancer within the financial services industry, supports cancer patient care initiatives nationwide and cutting-edge cancer research at the Belfer Institute for Applied Cancer Science at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Foundation’s donor and support base include the top financial firms in the country along with industry leaders.

Mr. Heavey began his career as a prep school history teacher before entering the financial services industry.  He started out with ClearSky, where he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Heavey joined the PNC Global Investment Services sales organization, before it was acquired by Bank of New York Mellon.  At BNY Mellon, he was responsible for the sales efforts of the mutual fund state compliance service and broker/dealer advertising review online system.  After BNY Mellon, Heavey joined a social media services company, and for the past year has headed the sales efforts for SalesFocus Solutions, a provider of CRM and sales reporting tools to mutual fund wholesalers.

“The Foundation is proud to welcome Frank Heavey as Chief Development Officer. He has built a track record of success throughout his career, and we are thrilled to have him contributing his expertise to our mission,” said Frank Strauss, Founder and Chairman of Expect Miracles Foundation.

“Like too many people, my family has experienced the devastating effects of cancer.  But we have also witnessed the wonderful dedication, compassion, and unyielding devotion of medical professionals and the passionate desire of donors committed to raising the funds necessary to make cancer history. It is an absolute honor and privilege to join Expect Miracles to help our donors and corporate sponsors be the cure,” said Heavey. “With events such as our golf tournaments, the 10th Anniversary Wine and Spirits Charity Event on November 7 in Boston, and the Miracle Maker Leadership Council for major donors, the financial industry demonstrates its leadership and commitment to fighting cancer.  I am extremely proud to have the opportunity to work with such devoted people and companies.”

Heavey earned a Master of Education degree from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Connecticut College.  He is the author of the 2005 mystery, Dying to Sea
