Easy As Pie! Confluence employees support the fight against cancer

Easy As Pie! Confluence employees support the fight against cancer

I was not surprised when I found four corporate values clearly stated in the About Us section of Confluence’s website. Two jumped out at me:

Imagination - Dealing creatively with challenges and envisioning what the world could be

Service - Committing to the success of others

When the leaders of Confluence began planning for their company-wide meeting at their headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA, they realized that having all their colleagues gathered in one place, either in person or via telecom, presented a unique opportunity to have some fun that would serve others.

If you are not familiar with Confluence, it is a technology firm that provides the global investment management industry with a data-centric platform of solutions that share value across product, from data integration and governance to calculation, output, and reporting. Eight of the top 10 global service providers license Confluence products and 8 of the top 10 global asset managers have business processes automated through Confluence.

Confluence has been a long-time supporter of Expect Miracles Foundation and our life-saving mission. While they already serve as a Corporate Sponsor of our events to bring the financial services industry together to fight cancer, they wanted to do more for our mission.

Staying true to their corporate values of imagination and services, members of their internal philanthropic committee, Confluence Cares, came up with a unique FUNdraiser: employees could make a donation to Expect Miracles Foundation and get a chance to have their name drawn during the company meeting as the winner to throw a pie in the face of a Confluence executive.

Putting its corporate values of imagination (dealing creatively with challenges and envisioning what the world could be) and service (committing to the success of others), Confluence’s pie in the face fundraiser raised over $2,500 for Expect Miracles Foundation’s life-saving mission!

We thank all the employees of Confluence for their enthusiastic support, and extend a special thanks to the altruistic executives who were willing to take a pie in the face for the sake of fun and for the benefit of cancer patients.

“Expect Miracles represents the community spirit that unites our great industry toward a set of common goals. The Foundation and its events provide a dynamic opportunity to rally around a cause that impacts us all deeply and to share our prosperity to make a difference.”
