November 7th, 2013
On Thursday, November 7th Expect Miracles Foundation held the 10th Anniversary Expect Miracles Wine & Spirits Charity Event. The vibrant Space 57 at the Revere Hotel in Boston’s Theater District was a great venue for this successful and unforgettable night. Over 300 prominent members of the New England financial and business community teamed up to support Expect Miracles Foundation and to raise money for the fight against cancer.
The VIP reception featured musical entertainment provided by Rhett Price, the well-known pop/rock violinist who started in Boston’s subways and now performs for everyone from John Henry to Rob Gronkowski. VIP guests were each treated to a custom fit dress shirt, courtesy of Blank Label Boston and GrandTen Distillery provided craft cocktails for guests to enjoy along with Masciarelli wine.
The special guest of the evening was Chef Eric LeVine, five-time cancer survivor and winner of the hit Food Network TV show Chopped. Chef LeVine provided exquisite small plates from his new cookbook Small Bites Big Flavor, now available. Guests got to samples a variety of wine, spirits, and brews from partners including Masciarelli Wine Distributors, Remy Cointreau USA, Gosling’s Rum, New England Distilling, Peak Organic Brewing Company, Fireball Whiskey, and Keel Vodka. Throughout the night, guests participated in an opportunity for a chance to win a stunning pair of diamond earrings, which were graciously donated by IMPULSE by Adamas Fine Jewelry. The theater was silent as participants excitedly opened their jewelry boxes to see if the winning card was inside. The highlight of the live auction was getaway to Grand Cayman Island, graciously donated by Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, Plantana, and Cayman Airlines. Most importantly, Chef Eric LeVine and Frank Heavey, Expect Miracles Foundation’s new Chief Development Officer, took the stage to share inspirational and hope filled stories of how cancer has impacted themselves and their families. This was a great reminder to guests of how their contributions are helping to save the lives.
The event would not have been such a success without our wonderful partners, donors, volunteers and supporters. On behalf of the entire Expect Miracles Foundation team, we thank you for taking part in an unforgettable night!
